SOFA CHICAGO 2015 Opening Night


CHICAGO (November 13, 2015)  – The Sculpture Objects Functional Art and Design Fair: SOFA CHICAGO, which took place at Navy Pier November 5-8, experienced high attendance and rave reviews from galleries, artists, curators and attendees. Throughout the Fair, aisles were full as collectors and art patrons admired unique works of art and mingled with galleries and artists. In all, over 36,000 people attended the Fair, presented by 67 established and emerging galleries from across the globe, displaying the very best in ceramics, wood, glass, fiber, jewelry, metal, and for the first-time ever, painting, photography and works on paper. Urban Expositions Makes Second Acquisition Under New Partnership with Clarion Events

urbanATLANTA (September 9, 2015) – Atlanta-based show management company Urban Expositions today announced their acquisition of Hamptons Expo Group. New York-based Hamptons Expo Group founded and produces ArtAspen, ArtHamptons, Houston Fine Art Fair, and Palm Springs Fine Art Fair.

Rick Friedman, former Owner and President of Hamptons Expo Group, will continue his involvement in a consulting capacity.  Rich Ferrante, Hamptons Expo Group’s sales director will continue to focus on gallery outreach for ArtAspen, ArtHamptons, Houston Fine Art Fair, and Palm Springs Fine Art Fair. Collectors and Select Art Dealers Gather in Dallas

The Houston Fine Art Fair recently hosted a reception in Dallas for an intimate group of the city’s collectors and select art dealers, in the famed Zodiac Room in Neiman Marcus, Downtown. This event was part of HFAF’s statewide promotion to invite the region’s most avid art collectors and patrons to Houston to witness the fourth edition of the fair and experience the stellar lineup of VIP events.

Guests were greeted warmly by Dallas/Houston arts patron Deborah M. Colton, who is serving as the 2014 HFAF Chairperson. HFAF Executive Director Rick Friedman announced programming plans for the 4th edition at Reliant Center on Sept.18-21. Already, advanced registration is nearly 5,000 art lovers, a company record for advanced sales any of its five fairs nationwide. (more…)

Houston Fine Art Exceeds Expectations


12,000 Attended ∙ Millions of Dollars Changed Hands

HOUSTON, TX (September 20, 2012) –The second annual Houston Fine Art Fair (HFAF) exceeded expectations with more than 12,000 people attending Sept. 13-16, 2012 at Reliant Center. Opening Night alone garnered 3,000 visitors and benefitted The Core Program of the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

More than 2,000 works, from 500 respected artists, were offered from 80 galleries representing 12 countries and 34 cities, thus establishing this Fair as the largest in the Southwest Region. World-renowned collectors, curators and art patrons, from the experienced to the novice, culled through the array of paintings, drawings, print editions, installations, sculpture, and photography. Attendees and exhibitors alike buzzed about the new location’s smart layout of open aisles and dramatic 12-foot high walls. (more…)
